Crow's Edge

The city of Crow’s Edge was once where Lord Bristen kept his granaries and stockpiles of food, but it is now its own separate political entity. The previous Magistrate of the city was literally run out of town on a rail and that is the last time the entire population agreed on one thing. Since the separation from Bristen there has been strife and dissent abound. A great orator by the name of Berente was the only voice of reason and lead to the creation of the 5 Year Peace treaty. Under the terms of this treaty each group would agree to not open hostilities unless they would face the combined might of the others. During the 5 years work was to be done on creating a stable government through the body known as the Populix where all citizens would be granted the right to speak and was moderated by Berente himself. That was 4 and a half years ago, the main factions that remain are the merchant group the Secutors, the nigh vigilante group of women known as the Opal Watch, and the monarchical group the Royalists.

The city is both blessed and cursed by the farm’s that surround it and which provide a higher quality of life in this city than in most of the “new” city states. While the food stuffs are always welcome it also leaves the city vulnerable. All of the factions agree that a strong standing army is the only way to guarantee the farms’ safety. But this safety is now capital for the factions to try and gain with the ever more important farm owners. Consequently small groups are being recruited to perform this, and other, tasks so that each faction is directly competing when it comes to defense.
